1941:
AL 7, NL 5
It was the year of Joe DiMaggio's record 56-game hitting streak and Ted Williams' .406 average. DiMaggio would be the league's MVP, but Williams was the All-Star hero. With the NL leading 5-4 and two out in the ninth, Williams' hit a three-run homer off the Cubs' Claude Passeau. Lost in the shuffle was the All-Star Game's first two-homer performance by the Pirates' Arky Vaughn.
