The AL went up 10-0 and then held on for a comfortable 13-6 win in San Diego. NL starter Tom Glavine of the Braves gave up nine singles (including seven in a row) and five runs in an inning and two thirds. Ken Griffey Jr. of Seattle went 3-for-3 with a home run to win MVP honors. The Giants' Will Clark hit a three-run homer to lead the NL.
