No All-Star tickets for the public

FORT MYERS, Fla. -- The Red Sox announced last night that no tickets for
the July 13 All-Star Game at Fenway Park will be available to the public.
The club said two-thirds of the 33,871 seats at Fenway have been set aside
for season ticket-holders. The rest go to major league baseball. The best
nonseason ticket-holders can expect are a limited number of turnbacks.
"We felt our first obligation was to our season ticket-holders,'' said
team spokesman Kevin Shea. "There is more involved than just the game-day
tickets. The All-Star Game is a three-day celebration at Fenway and the Hynes
Convention Center. We told our season ticket-holders they have first choice on
tickets for the celebration and they took us up on it.''
Shea pointed out that capacity in the smallest park in the majors also will
be affected by the large contingent of media.
