This multi-talented marathoner has competed at Boston twice. In 1995, she finished fourth in 2:29:35 and in 1996, sixth in 2:31:35. Most recently, Rochat-Moser finished fifth at the 1998 New York City Marathon in 2:32:37, third at the Prague Marathon in 2:37:53 after experiencing leg cramps, and won Switzerland’s Grand Prix von Bern 10 Mile in 53:01.
Rochat-Moser won her first major marathon in 1997 at New York 2:28:42, becoming the first Swiss winner in that race’s history. The same year she finished second at the Vienna City Marathon (2:31:31) and finished eighth at the World Championships in 2:36:16. She also competed in the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Marathon, finishing eighteenth in 2:34:48.
Rochat-Moser ran and won her debut marathon in 1994, setting a Swiss Record and a personal best of 2:27:44. Besides her elite runner status, Rochat-Moser is a lawyer and an owner of the gourmet restaurant, Girardet, in her hometown of Crissier, Switzerland.
