Qualifying times are based upon Boston Marathon Race Day age (April 17, 2006). Age group on the day of the qualifying race may be different. Qualifying times must have been run since Sept. 24, 2004, at a certified marathon. Entrants must be at least 18 years of age on race day.
Times that are less than a minute over the qualification standard will be accepted. For example, a 40-year-old male runner whose best time since Sept. 24, 2004, is 3:20:59 is considered to have met the qualification of 3 hours, 20 minutes.
The BAA accepts net times from chip scoring systems.
