ASHINGTON -- Vice President Al Gore leads former senator Bill Bradley among Democrats in Iowa but the former basketball star has cut the gap in half in the past two months, according to a poll released yesterday. The University of Iowa poll of 330 Democrats and 330 Republicans likely to vote in next month's Iowa caucuses also found Texas Governor George W. Bush dominating the Republican race. The polls each had a sampling error of plus or minus 4 percentage points. Among Democrats, Gore led Bradley 48-27 percent with 24 percent undecided. In October, Gore had led 61-19 with only 18 percent undecided.
