Buchanan sues to block pornography links from Web site

Associated Press, 10/11/00

SAN FRANCISCO -- Some Web sites about Reform Party presidential hopeful Pat Buchanan are baring more than politics. T

They link to pornography, which has irked Buchanan and running mate Ezola Foster.

The two are suing the Durham, N.C., firm of Rendina Solutions, which has registered Web addresses in Buchanan's name that link to pornographic material.

A federal judge on Tuesday transferred the case from San Francisco to federal court in North Carolina.

Buchanan's attorney, Mark T. Clausen, of Windsor, Calif., wants the sites shut down or for them to have a disclaimer and link to Buchanan's official site, buchananreform.org.

"We want this stopped," Clausen said.

Mark Rendina, who is accused of registering the domain names, did not return telephone calls Tuesday from The Associated Press. The lawsuit said Rendina offered to sell the domain names to Buchanan's campaign for $10,000.

The sites in dispute are buchanan-foster.org; buchananfoster2000.com; buchananfoster2000.org and buchanan-foster2000.com.
