Debates to be broadcast live

he debate tonight at the University of New Hampshire between two Democratic presidential hopefuls, Vice President Al Gore and former senator Bill Bradley, will be televised live starting at 7 on New England Cable News, C-SPAN, and MSNBC. It will be moderated by ABC News anchor Peter Jennings. Radio station WBUR-FM (90.9) will also broadcast the debate. On the Internet, the debate will be carried on a number of sites, including

www.c-span.org, www.msnbc.com, and NECN's Web site, necnews.com.

The same outlets will also carry the UNH debate tomorrow at 7 p.m. among the six Republican presidential candidates: Texas Governor George W. Bush, Senator John McCain, Senator Orrin Hatch, Steve Forbes, Gary Bauer, and Alan Keyes. The GOP debate will be moderated by Tim Russert of NBC's ''Meet the Press.''

The debates are organized by NECN, The (Manchester) Union Leader, and New Hampshire Public Television.
