Veterans of state political wars join the Bradley-for-president campaign

arbara Opacki of Melrose, one of the state's top political operatives, has joined the Democratic presidential campaign of former New Jersey senator Bill Bradley. Opacki will help coordinate field operations between New Hampshire and Massachusetts. Opacki's credits include deputy national field director for Michael Dukakis's presidential campaign in 1988. Two years later, she was field director for then-Attorney General Francis X. Bellotti's unsuccessful 1990 gubernatorial primary campaign. Bradley adviser Michael Goldman and Mark Longabaugh, who is coordinating Bradley's Granite State effort, were on an opposing team in that 1990 three-way Democratic fight eventually won by John Silber. Longabaugh managed the campaign of then-Lieutenant Governor Evelyn Murphy, and Goldman was a consultant to Murphy's campaign.
