Vice President Al Gore will continue locking up the Democratic establishment's support for his presidential bid on Monday, when Senate minority leader Tom Daschle endorses him in Sioux Falls, S.D.

South Dakota Senator Tim Johnson will also throw his support behind Gore. This week, House minority leader Richard A. Gephardt endorsed Gore in Manchester, N.H.

"Gore is a very solid, very thoughtful leader . . . who understands the problems of rural America, but also understands the need to promote a high-tech future for our country as well," Johnson said.

After his stop in Sioux Falls, Gore will travel to Ames, Iowa, to talk about agriculture at Iowa State University, and then meet with members of the United Auto Workers in Des Moines.

Next Friday, Gore travels to North Conway, N.H., to speak to the annual Carroll County Grover Cleveland dinner, a Democratic party event.

Former New Jersey senator Bill Bradley is the only other announced candidate for the Democratic nomination. The Rev. Jesse Jackson has said he is thinking about running, too.
