Robinson to kick off Senate campaign with tour of Berkshires

Associated Press, 08/10/00

BOSTON -- Republican U.S. Senate hopeful Jack E. Robinson planned to start a statewide bus tour Friday in Berkshire County.

Robinson was scheduled to kick off a "Reform Express" bus tour he hopes will bring him to all 351 cities and towns in Massachusetts before election day. He plans to visit all Berkshire County communities Friday and Saturday.

Robinson, who is challenging Democratic incumbent U.S. Sen. Edward Kennedy, said his campaign will focus on campaign finance reform, school choice, tax cuts and rebuilding the military.

The bus tour begins in the western Massachusetts town of Florida and will include stops in Williamstown, Pittsfield and West Springfield.
