George W. Bush's favorite things, responding to questions from talk show host Oprah Winfrey yesterday:

Sandwich: Peanut butter and jelly on white bread.

Gift to give: Kiss to wife Laura.

Gift to receive: A tie, although after prompting by Winfrey, a pair of cufflinks that Barbara Bush gave him upon being sworn in as governor of Texas. His grandfather, former US senator Prescott Bush, had given them to President George Bush when he went off to World War II.

Time in his life: Age 54 and running for president.

Fast-food: Taco.

Thing he can't live without: Running.

Song: "Wake up Little Susie," which Bush attributed to Buddy Holly before correcting it to the Everly Brothers.

Historical figure: Winston Churchill.

Dream: Bush held up his hand as if he were being sworn in as president; some observers interpreted him as cautioning Winfrey not to ask.

Prized possession: Ranch in Crawford, Texas.

Memory: Little League baseball in Midland, Texas.
