Dave Shea has served as a Boston Bruins play-by-play announcer on NESN since the 2000/2001 season. For three seasons, beginning in 1997, Shea served as the play-by-play voice of Bruins games broadcast on UPN 38.
He first appeared on NESN in 1984 as the play-by-play announcer for the network's Hockey East coverage. He then moved on to work alongside Fred Kusick and Derek Sanderson as an analyst and intermission host for ten seasons on NESN's Bruins telecasts from 1985-86 through the 1994-95 season. In addition to his work at NESN, Shea also served as the play-by-play announcer on ESPN's coverage of the NCAA Hockey Regionals for three years beginning in 1994.
The 27-year broadcasting veteran has called hockey, football, soccer and basketball for a long list of professional and college teams that includes the Minnesota Timberwolves, Boston Breakers, Atlanta Chiefs, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, Harvard Crimson and Boston College Eagles.
Shea currently serves as Senior Vice President of the Regional Sports Media Group which is best known for publishing The Hockey Magazine.
