Jim Rice
Boston Red Sox Studio Analyst

Jim Rice is a Red Sox Studio Analyst before and after select Boston Red Sox games on NESN. Rice joins Bob Rodgers on The Boston Globe Pre-Game Report, NESN's half-hour Boston Red Sox pre-game show, and after the game on W.B. Mason Extra Innings, NESN's popular post-game show.

Rice played sixteen seasons in the major leagues, all of them with the Red Sox. The eight-time All-Star finished his career with a .298 batting average, 382 home runs and 1,451 RBI. Rice was voted the A.L. MVP in 1978 and helped lead the Red Sox to two World Series (1975 and 1986). He ranks third behind only Ted Williams and Carl Yastrzemski on the Red Sox all-time leaders in home runs, RBI, hits and total bases.

Since retiring after the 1989 season, Rice has remained active in the Red Sox organization, serving as a minor league hitting instructor from 1992 to 1995 before joining the parent club in a similar position in 1996. He currently serves as a special organizational instructor for the team.
