Getting out the news

The Big Dig may be using tons of concrete, asphalt, and steel to build Boston’s new highway, but there is also something else going on. Fiber-optic cable, antennas, cameras, and myriad other electronic devices are being installed to make up the highway’s "central nervous system." A look at how some of these features will work together to keep the roads safer, cleaner, and more efficient.
