Weddings should be photographed in a creative yet natural style. My aim is to capture the event as it happens, to find wonderful moments as they occur. I take many candid shots because reality, with all of its imperfections, is infinitely more interesting than a posed shot. I prefer genuine expressions to forced smiles and make pictures with that in mind. When I photograph formally posed groups, I strive to make portraits that are spontaneous yet graceful. I photograph primarily with a medium format camera which produces sharper images than a small format 35mm camera. I use both black and white and color film, unless otherwise requested.
