The nation got a look at the constantly difficult weather conditions in San Francisco's Candlestick Park when a gale wind blew the Giants' little relief pitcher, Stu Miller, off the mound in the ninth inning. Miller's misfortune became a balk that helped the Americans wipe out a 3-1 lead, but the NL won 5-4 on Roberto Clemente's 10th-inning single.
