AL 2, NL 0
Six AL pitchers, led by starter Bob Welch, held the NL to a record low of two hits in a 2-0 shutout at Chicago's Wrigley Field. The only runs scored during a rally interrupted by a rain delay of more than an hour. The AL had runners on first and third, thanks to back-to-back singles off the NL's Jeff Brantley, when the rains came. Rob Dibble replaced Brantley following the delay and gave up a two-run double to the Rangers' Julio Franco.
