1989:
AL 5, NL 3
The AL scored five runs in the first three innings - two on back-to-back homers by Bo Jackson of the Royals and Wade Boggs of the Red Sox - before being shut down the rest of the way on three hits. It proved enough for a 5-3 win in Anaheim. Jackson added a rally-killing catch to his home run, and won MVP honors. It was the first back-to-back win by the AL in 31 years.
