The National League got only three hits, but all of them were home runs, to win 3-2 in sweltering heat in Arlington, Texas. The homers came from Craig Biggio (in the 6th), Mike Piazza (in the 7th) and Jeff Conine (in the 8th). Frank Thomas hit a two-run homer in the fourth to account for all of the AL runs.
