Ironworkers Frank Megnia and John O'Connell steer the capstone into place atop the north tower on April 20, 2001. The bridge towers were designed to echo the Bunker Hill Monument, which stands just north of the bridge in Charlestown and commemorates a Revolutionary War battle between the colonists and the British.
