The first of two games in 1960 was played in 101-degree heat in Kansas City, where the Nationals won 5-3, getting a two-run homer from the Cubs' Ernie Banks. Willie Mays of the Giants had three hits, including a triple and a double. Del Crandall had two hits, including a home run. Detroit's Al Kaline had a two-run shot for the AL in the eighth.
