944 Q Did you see Col. Sparks firing at any Germans?

A No, sir.

945 Q What squad and platoon were you in that day?

A Third squad, third platoon.

946 Q Where did you see Col. Sparks that day?

A Well, I saw him on the railroad and then after we got down to the camp, I saw him down there.

947 Q Where did you hit the fenced-in enclosure where the inmates were kept?

A On the left end.

948 Q Was it an area where a canal ran along side the fence?

A Yes, sir.

949 Q Was it close to the crematory or dog kennels?

A I don't know exactly where they were but, I saw quite a few buildings.

950 Q Was there a guard tower about the place you hit the stockade?

A No, sir, I don't think so. I know there was one on the right, but I am not sure whether there was one where I was.

951 Q Was the one you remember to the left of the main gate into the stockade?

A Yes, sir, I think there was one down there. I am not sure.

952 Q Did you see any Germans taken from that tower?

A No, sir.

953 Q Did you see any Germans killed along that canal?

A No, sir. I saw some dead but they were already killed when I got there.
