Vengeance at Dachau

Continued from page 3

Testimony of: Capt. Richard F. Taylor (Contd)

16 Q Who is Major Giraud and where is he now?

A Major Giraud is the American officer who was interned in this camp. He may be at his quarters now, but I don't know his exact whereabouts. Tomorrow he goes to 7th Army to report to OSS.

17 Q I believe that is all unless you have something else in mind. What are your duties at this camp?

A At the present time, since May 1st, I have been adjutant of the camp and have also been responsible for supplies, including food and medicine, to be gathered from the surround country for the internees.

18 Q How many inmates are in the concentration camp?

A No one knows for sure, but we have narrowed it down between 32,000 and 37,000. Approximately 10,000 are sick. There are 300 to 400 bodies, but there was no count on them, that is my estimate
