26 A The troops arrive approximately at 2:00 and I met the generals about (...can't read time...) 15.
27 Q Did you stay with these generals after that?
A I placed myself under their disposition and asked that I help with the instructions, and after that time I walked around as Major Giraud and helped with the camp protection.
28 Q Were you inside the stockade or outside after your conversation with these generals?
A Outside, sir.
29 Q Did you see any guards in the hands of American troops?
A Yes, sir, I did.
30 Q Where were they when you saw them?
A They were sitting on the siding just in front of the camp gate.
31 Q About how many?
A Very roughly I would estimate about twenty.
32 Q Do you know what the American troops did with them?
A They were marched away, sir. I don't know where or what they did.
33 Q Do you know anything about the subsequent shooting or killing of guards by either troops or inmates?
A No, sir, I don't know anything in particular.
34 Q Do you know of any persons being killed here after the initial taking of the camp?
A Yes, sir, I do.
