35 Q Will you tell me about those matters?

A Only one incident that I know of. That was the 2nd of May, just after the general's party inspection of the camp. Prisoners of the camp chased out three individuals whom they claimed to be SS. The individuals climbed over the wire enclosure at the same time the enclosure guards came out immediately to see what the trouble was and maintain order. That is all that I saw up to that point, and afterwards I saw that the men had been shot in the pillbox just in front of the enclosure.

36 Q Could you tell from where you were whether they were shot by inmates or by American guards?

A I couldn't because I didn't see them shot. I just heard the shots.

37 Q Do you know whether or not they were SS or guards?

A No, sir, I do not know whether or not they were SS.

38 Q I believe that is all unless you have something else?

A I believe not, sir.
