When you think libraries, don't just think books. They host an amazing array of events.

On Monday nights, the main branch of the Boston Public Library holds a free movie series. The current one features the films of Lana Turner, with the next film, "The Postman Always Rings Twice," on April 26.

The Coolidge Corner Branch of the Brookline Public Library shows films Thursdays at 1 p.m. It's billed as a senior cinema, but they don't card you. Today the library is showing "Stage Door."

Libraries are a great source of kids-oriented activities, from puppet shows to poetry workshops - just check the behemoth schedule of Boston's main library and its branches. Adults will find concerts, computer training workshops, panel discussions, and lectures.

You can even work out at the library these days: Yoga is offered Thursday evenings in Dorchester, and the Cambridge Public Library holds an adult exercise program Tuesday mornings.
