High end: If your children love the PBS show, they won't be able to resist a giant stuffed Arthur for $260, or the giant DW for $165.

Low end: This is the place for stocking stuffers, with a bargain table featuring erasers, key rings, glow-in-the-dark bugs, marbles, chopsticks, and the like, starting at 15 cents.

For young readers: The shop not only has tons of books, but also products that help the books come alive. For instance, if you're a fan of Clifford the Big Red Dog, you can get a stuffed Clifford ($39.95), a Clifford Make-A-Match game for ages 3 and up ($12.95), or a wooden puzzle for ages 18 months and up ($12.95) The same goes for Curious George and a variety of other book characters.

For grown-ups, too: The Hoberman's Sphere is like a 3-D doodle you can keep on your desk and play with when you need to reflect. Made of plastic joints, the sphere, which comes in two sizes, can contract and expand to remarkable proportions. $18.95 for one that expands to 18 inches; $41.95 for one that expands to more than a yard.
