The three Harvard University Art Museums - the Fogg, the Sackler, and the Busch-Reisinger - share one small treasure trove of a shop in the Fogg Museum. Every season, says store manager Meg Howland, a theme is chosen consistent with one exhibition. This fall, it's "Nature as Metaphor: Paintings from China, Korea, and Japan," which you can see at the Sackler (down the block on Broadway). The prices at the shop are all reasonable; maybe that comes from having a large student clientele.
Low end: Crickets are considered good luck, and two of them bounce from a $5 box (no, they're not real) decorated with an embossed design of bamboo in black and red. Lightening the work load: A computer wrist rest made from antique kimono fabric and stuffed with flax seeds will keep your favorite technophile ergonomically, aesthetically, and aromatically happy. It refers to the Sackler's kimono collection. $25. Merry and bright: Glass Christmas ornaments made in Austria and fashioned after the works of Gustav Klimt (whose work is on view at the Busch-Reisinger). $16.
